The Business Benefits of Location-based Visualization Technologies

The retailing world has changed. In late 2007, for the first time, consumers reported a higher satisfaction rating with on-line buying experiences than with their brick and mortar store experiences. The Internet’s vast array of visual images and quick search features has created irrevocable changes in consumer expectations, even as the lack of educated in-store personnel has created continued and escalating frustration.
Three-dimensional views of products accompanied by detailed and visual product features and benefits are no longer luxuries. They are must-haves for most eCommerce sites. Similarly, while all web sites have store locators that include address and phone number, an expectation of maps and directions are also a standard part of the internet experience.
The issues at hand are clear: How can on-line retailers continue to raise the bar for the internet experience, and how can brick and mortar retailers recapture at least a modicum of customer satisfaction in their stores?
