By Steve Rowen, Partner
3/18/2008

Maine-based Hannaford Brothers has just announced that it is the victim of the next big customer data breach. But this one may prove to be quite different.

The chain is owned and operated by Belgium' s Delhaize Group. Hannaford Brothers operates 165 stores throughout New England, while flying the Sweetbay banner above 106 stores in Florida. We're not naïve, though. We know that retail IT departments will be tightening their belts, and pressure to perform will only rise. So the obvious question is...   More

Epicor Update: Multiple Paths to Glory
By Paula Rosenblum, Managing Partner
3/18/2008

When Epicor announced its purchase of NSB (formerly STS) we covered the acquisition in Retail Paradox Weekly (Epicor Acquires NSB – Many Questions for Retailers). At that time, given the somewhat significant product overlap, we suggested clients and prospects insure support for existing products, request a product roadmap from Epicor and also to insure support agreements for installed products be spelled out in writing.
Over the past week, RSR analysts have met with Epicor executives, and reviewed their strategy and roadmap. Given the questions we raised...  More
